Six Month Catch-Up

Six Months old!
It's hard to believe that our little angel will be 7 months old tomorrow. We have had a lot go on this past month with our move but we are starting to get unpacked and settled in!

My birthday kinda went by in a blur because of the move but I couldn't have asked for a better birthday present. We really love our new home in Rocklin! Before we moved Grandpa Allen and Marilyn had a birthday dinner for me in Hayward.  They made a great dinner! Complete with chocolate cake!

The day after our move we were all pretty wiped out! Charley loves taking naps with her Uncle Sheldon!

Napping in her new room
Charley is beginning to take some naps in her crib
Charley loves her baths and she has become quite the kicker! We are starting to get the whole kitchen soaked! So we had to move bath-time from the kitchen sink to the bathtub!

In the big bathtub!
Charley loves to try and catch the water
On Saturday May 11th Darrin's family came over to celebrate my birthday and my first Mother's day! Charley got dressed up for the occasion!

Isn't this the cutest face ever?

Posing with Daddy! She looks so much like her daddy!
For Mother's Day I got to take a nice long shower and Darrin made me a cruise style breakfast complete with pastries, dessert, and sparkling apple cider!

Milestones

Charley has really started to laugh and use her voice more this month!

She likes it when you blow on her belly!

Our big milestone this month is that we have started to eat baby food! Charley has been quite interested in what we have been eating and has been grabbing at our plates so we decided it was time! She really enjoys sitting in her high chair in the kitchen.

Moving Day!!

The week before we moved Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Sheldon came over with Jennifer's Mom Stephanie to help us pack. We wanted to make sure that we packed everything that was important first!

Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Sheldon helped us pack up our whole kitchen!

On  May 5th we made the move from Hayward to Rocklin California! If you need help finding out who your real friends are just ask people to help you move. Luckily we had a great network of family and friends who helped us make the move.

My brother flew up from Malibu to help us move and we rented a 24 foot truck which we thought would be plenty of room! We were getting a little bit nervous when we left the condo because we still had the storage unit to pack up and the truck was very full but luckily everything fit!

On our way!
Our friend and neighbor Mark was a big help on our moving day!! Thanks Mark we will miss you!

Saying goodbye is hard to do!

It is exciting to move to a new community but it was also sad to say goodbye to our many friends in the bay area.  I am excited and blessed to be able to stay home with Charley but it was hard to say goodbye to all of my coworkers at Hayward Unified and Head Start. On May 2nd my coworkers at Hayward Unified had a goodbye lunch for me. It was so nice to see everyone one last time before we moved. I will truly miss everyone and I am so thankful for all of the experiences over the past five years. Goodbye to all of my friends At Hayward Unified. It has been wonderful working with all of you!
Deisy the best interpreter and one of the most classy ladies I know!

My wonderful student teacher Shalini! You will make a wonderful special ed teacher!

Mansi a wonderful speech therapist and dear friend!

My supervisor Karen who has been a wonderful support and confidant!

For the past three years I have worked with Head Start as part of our preschool inclusion program.  I have made some great friends at Head Start and will cherish the relationships that I have made.Charley and I stopped by one afternoon to say goodbye and clean out my office.

In April we visited our friends the Bornstein Family. They were one of the first families that I got to work with in the bay area when I did early intervention. Their daughter Haley has Down Syndrome and is now eight years old. They quickly became great friends and we have stayed in touch over the years. They were very excited to meet Charley! Unfortunately Haley did not want to have her picture taken that day.

Hannah has become such a lovely twelve year old

We also visited with my friend Nicole who is the mother of Alessandro who is five years old. I started working with Alessandro when he was two months old! It was great to see them.
