Easter Extravaganza

We moved to our new home on Saturday March 23rd and on Sunday March 31st we hosted Easter at our new home! This was an extra special Easter since it fell on Darrin's Birthday! So we not only celebrated Easter but we also celebrated all of the March and April birthdays!
Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Sheldon came to spend Easter weekend with us and helped us prepare for our Easter extravaganza!

We had fun dyeing eggs and Darrin and Uncle Sheldon even tried to make a few fancy ones.
On Sunday morning we woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had visited us!

The Easter Bunny even left a little something for Auntie Jennifer and Uncle Sheldon
The Easter Bunny left a pretty basket at Oma's house too that had a ball and a pretty pink hat
The Easter Bunny also left a few things for Charley at Grandpa Allen and Lola's house

Our first Easter Egg Hunt
Since it was raining we had an indoor Easter Egg hunt. Once Charley got the idea of it she really enjoyed looking for the eggs and putting them in the basket.

In the middle of all of our Easter festivities we also had birthday presents to open too! We celebrated Oma, Uncle Steve, Darrin, and Lou's birthdays.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed seeing our new home! Charley even gave Grandpa Allen a few  Easter kisses.

Our Easter Extravaganza was a success!

Moving with a Toddler

It is possible to move with a toddler.......if you have lots of help! Both Oma and Grandma were a huge help during our move. Darrin's mom came over several afternoons and took Charley to the park so I could make phone calls and pack breakable items. My mom came into town on the Wednesday before we moved and stayed for a week. It was nice to have an extra pair of hands to help with packing, organizing, and running after Charley. Thank you both!

Crossing the bridge
Digging in the sand box. This is one of Charley's favorite activities!

Playing with Grandma
Charley loves to be silly with Grandma. She loved it when grandma would play with her during our move. She would laugh and laugh!

Sitting on the stoop with Grandma

Charley enjoyed showing Grandma how she dances on the front porch. My mom called her "Tappy toes" when she would dance around. She was good entertainment during our move.

Our New Home!

Here are some pictures of our new home in Meadow Vista. A big thank you to Darrin's mom who took these a week before we moved in.

As you can see we have plenty of room! Charley just loves all of the space to run and play!

Random Pics and Videos

So it's been over a month since I have updated our blog.  Since I have finally gotten a handle on the unpacking and organizing since our move, I figured I better start to update our blog before I'm up to my eyeballs in pictures and videos.

Here are some random pictures and videos that we took of Charley before we moved in March.

It's hard to believe that  Charley has only  been walking for two months! She is walking everywhere these days and is practically running. She also loves to dance. I love this video of her walking in our backyard in Rocklin. I"m pretty sure she says, "Hi guys" at the beginning.

She loved climbing up and sitting on the steps to the hot tub at our home in Rocklin.

One of Charley's favorite games is for you to hide somewhere and then pop out. She loves the anticipation.

The next couple of photos I took one afternoon while she was eating lunch. She is doing pretend play with her stuffed puppy. She was pretending to give him medicine and feed him. This might not seem like a big deal to most people but to a mom who is a Special Ed teacher it was pretty remarkable to watch her do pretend play at 17 months old!

Over the past month she has been really funny about putting hats on her head and walking around the house. She is such a little ham. This is one of her favorite hats. Darrin thinks she looks like paddington bear.

Charley loves to go to the park. Her two favorite activities are going down the slide and playing in the sandbox. Here is a little video of  us going down the slide.
