11 months....going, going, gone!

 Eleven months is outta here!

This past month has been one of those months that are packed with all sorts of developmental milestones. It's funny how that happens. Last month we were working on sitting and this month we have begun to sit independently, crawl on hands and knees, and pull up to standing on furniture! Holy cow! At this rate we might be walking by Christmas!

She's officially a crawler!

This month we have started to go for little outings. Charley really enjoys going to the park, to the toddler play place inside the mall, and to the public library for their Mommy and Me class called Mother Goose on the Loose.

The end of September we celebrated Great Grandpa Pop's Birthday. Everyone came over to our house to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Pop!

At Pop's Birthday Oma gave Charley her first SF Giants shirt. She came over a few days later so they could take pictures and cheer on the Giants.  Little did we know that that the Giants would be playing in the world series! Charley must be a good luck charm! Go Giants!

Our First Family Trip

On October 1st we took our first family vacation to Tahoe City on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. We have gone on several trips since Charley was born but this was our first trip as just the three of us. The end of September was quite warm in Rocklin so we were excited to get away and search for fall.

We stayed in a really nice condo in the Chinquapin resort just outside of Tahoe City. Our condo had waterfront views and the property had really nice nature trails. Our little Charley loves nature and she really enjoyed looking at the lake and going for walks on the nature trails.

We found Fall!

Beautiful Fall Colors
Tahoe City was a super cute little town and we absolutely loved their beach park. They had a beautiful park and playground right on Lake Tahoe. We spent a lot of time here! Here are some of our favorite pictures from the beach park.

Fall is my favorite time of year and while we were on vacation I really wanted to get some pictures of Charley in the fall leaves. Here are some of our favorite pictures form our impromptu photo shoot.

You just gotta love this little monkey!!
Goodbye Tahoe! We had a great time and we will be back!

Ten months gone....already??

Ten months old!
Charley is officially eleven months old.  It is so hard for me to believe that in less then a month we will be celebrating her 1 year birthday. I am extremely excited to start our journey into toddlerhood but I am also a bit sad that the baby stage is slowly slipping away.

As many of you know I am an avid babywearer and during our trip to the bay area last month I picked up a Beco Butterfly 2 baby carrier.  It has been awesome! Charley loves to ride on my back and typically falls asleep in it after ten minutes.

We have been doing a lot of exploring this past month and really enjoy visiting a community that is 20 miles north of us called Auburn.  Auburn is located in the foothills and reminds me quite a bit of where I grew up in the mountians east of Albuquerque. It also has a historic downtown which I love! Auburn has  quite a few parks and we have spent some of our weekends exploring them.  One park that we liked a lot had a duck pond which was nice to walk around. Next time we'll have to bring bread to feed the ducks.

Visiting Regional Park in Auburn

Fall has not yet arrived in Rocklin and the days are still pretty warm so we decided to take advantage of the prolonged heat and go to the lake. We found a great place where we can drive down to the water. Charley loved splashing in the water and playing in the wet sand.

Enjoying the beach at Folsom lake

Charley is sitting up so much better and has now graduated to the toddler side of her bathtub. This kid is just too cute!

Bedtime routine-reading books with Daddy!
Charley has gotten quite good and fast at belly crawling and loves to knock over her stacking cups.

The end of September always means one thing for the Silver Family and that is the Salinas Airshow! This year Charley and I decided not to attend and let Daddy have some guy time. We stayed at home and hung out with Grandma who was visiting us from Albuquerque.

While Daddy was away Charley had a great time playing with Grandma and Grandma was thrilled to get in some playtime! One of Charley's favorite games is to play magic show where she pulls different colored scarves out of a hat followed by a rabbit! She is quite the magician!
