8 Month Happenings

Eight Months Old
It's hard to believe but in just two more days our little angel will be nine months old! Everyone is probably sick of hearing this but she honestly does keep getting cuter and cuter! Here are some pictures and videos from the past month.

At the park at a MOMS club picnic
Charley with her new friend Ella
Charley is really liking solid foods. She has even begun to eat whole pieces of banana. We have started letting her try to feed herself which she thinks is great fun!

I just love this little face!
This month Charley has really started babbling. She tends to say "dadada" and "yayaya" or "nanana".

Charley is spending lots of time on her belly and last week she has picked up her rolling! She is definitely using it as a mode of transportation. She is not yet sitting by herself but she is getting more and more stable. She is also putting a lot more weight on her feet when we hold her in standing. We took her to the grocery store and she was able to sit in the grocery cart.

What a peanut!
We also had our first playdate at our house this month with our friends Jeannine and Damian. We met them in June at a local toy store during a meetup event. Damian is such a cutie and he is very definitely on the move. You would never guess that he is two months younger than Charley!

Which baby is older????

Our first playdate! Thanks Jeannine and Damian

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

While Grandma and Grandpa were here we checked out Folsom lake. We were excited to learn that we only live about fifteen minutes from the lake!

On Saturday morning we took Grandma and Grandpa to historic Auburn to check out a farmer's market. It was getting hot but we managed to pick up some produce and beautiful flowers. While we were walking around downtown we saw this storefront and had to get a picture.

We recently inherited a family quilt! From what we were told by ZiZi and Oma it was Pop's Grandmother's quilt. That would be Charley's Great, Great, Great Grandmother! Zizi gave it to us because she thought we might have room in our new home to display it. We ordered a nice hanger for it which arrived while Grandpa was here. Together Darrin and Grandpa were able to hang it up in our front room which we have made into a playroom.

Charley really enjoyed playing with both Grandma and Grandpa and would smile each morning when they came downstairs.

Thank you for coming to visit us Grandma and Grandpa we had a great time!

4th of July

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us for the 4th of July! We were excited to show them our new home and some of the area around Rocklin. Darrin was very excited to find out that Fireworks were legal in Rocklin! He was like a kid in a candy store!

The Big Timer!

On the 4th of July we went to Oma and Lou's house for a barbeque before the fireworks extravaganza at our house! Oma and Lou have a pool and this was Charley's first time swimming. She loved being in the water!

Thanks for the barbeque Oma and Lou! It was fun!

After our barbeque we headed back to our house so Darrin could set up his fireworks display! We were in for quite a treat! Not only did Darrin buy a large box of fireworks but he also found a 4th of July music channel on Pandora. We hooked up our iphone to a portable speaker in the garage and tada Darrin's firework display could be accompanied by music!

We thought that Charley would fall asleep before the firework show but she was not tired! She stayed up for most of it.  I thought the noise would scare her but I covered her ears and she enjoyed watching the bright colors.
