Two Month Catch-up

Charley will soon be three months! Here are some pictures and videos that we have taken of her over the past month.

We had dinner one night over at Pop's house and took some of these photos! I love the one with Pop looking at Charley!

One evening Grandpa Allen and Marilyn came over and brought us dinner! It was delicious!

Our little girl loves to be held and bounced. We found this new bouncer called the Mamaroo that moves in five different motions. So for Christmas we bought it for Charley. She is beginning to sit in it and here is a video of Charley trying out the Mamaroo. We are hoping that she will eventually sit in it for longer then a few minutes!

Over this past month Charley has begun to give us some social smiles and is beginning to coo more and more. We love hearing her little voice. It has been difficult catching the elusive smile on film, but here are a few attempts.

It's amazing to see how much she has grown over the past two months. She is officially 7 lbs and 3 oz. Here is a video of our last trip to the Pediatrician's office from January 12th.

Grandma and Grandpa came to town

On Christmas Day my parents came to visit us from Albuquerque and stayed with us the entire last week of December. This was my dad's first time seeing Charley and he swears that she looks a lot like me when I was a baby. My mom had not seen Charley since she was first born and she loved cuddling with her and singing her Christmas songs.

My mom and dad were such a big help when they were here! It was nice just to have an extra pair of hands to help hold Charley! While they were here my mom made a big traditional Italian dinner. We invited our friends Lee and Cherie and their baby Amalia to join us. We had a great time!

Christmas Eve

I am way behind in posting these pictures but here is a recap.

We spent Christmas Eve with Darrin's family and started the afternoon out by visiting Grandpa Allen and Marilyn  in Livermore. We also got to see Marilyn's son Garrin, his wife Kristen, and their dog Layla. Kristen and Garrin were expecting their first baby girl, Gemma, on January 13th but she made her appearance on December 30th!

Marilyn gave Charley the cutest Santa hat that matched her first christmas outfit perfectly!

After our visit with Grandpa Allen we went to Great Grandpa Pop's house where we spent the rest of the evening with Pop, Oma, Aunt Karen, Uncle Steve, and Uncle John. This was Uncle Steve's first time seeing Charley.

All Dogs Go To Heaven

On Friday December 16th our little pug dog Monty went to Heaven. Monty was 14 years old and had been doing pretty well. But the week of December 12th he began to show his age.  Darrin and I noticed what appeared to be an ear infection so on Wednesday Darrin took him into our vet. The vet cleaned out his ear and gave him some antibiotics and sent him home. On Thursday Monty began to have shallow breathing and on Friday he didn't want to eat. On Friday night he laid on the couch and put his head on Darrin's lap. Darrin looked at me and said, "I don't think we're getting off this couch." I sat down next to Monty and Darrin and as we were watching TV Monty took three deep breaths and was gone. Luckily Katie and Skyler were here to provide support and Skyler went with Darrin to take Monty to the vet on Friday night.

I adopted Monty from a pug rescue in Los Lunas New Mexico in July of 1999. He quickly became my rock and helped me get through some major transitions in my life.  In 2001 we met Darrin and in 2002 Monty and I made the move from New Mexico to California.

Monty provided our family with many happy memories and he will be greatly missed. Here are a few memories from over the past twelve years.

Auntie Katie and Uncle Skyler's Visit

On December 15th my sister Katie and her husband Skyler came to visit us from Albuquerque.  This was their first time seeing Charley and they were so excited to meet her! It was Uncle Skyler's first time being around a newborn so he was a bit nervous but by the end of their visit he was a pro.

Uncle Skyler in training!
Skyler had never been to San Francisco so on Saturday Darrin took Skyler into The City! It turned out to be a beautiful day in San Francisco. While they were exploring The City the girls stayed home and watched movies!

We took Katie and Skyler to see the visiting exhibit, Global Winter Wonderland. It featured Chinese lanterns that had been constructed to look like famous landmarks from all around the world. Most of it was made out of recycled materials. They were really pretty.

Auntie Katie and Uncle Skyler were such a big help to us while they were here! We had a wonderful visit and can't wait to see them again when we go to Albuquerque!
