Baby Shower #1

On Saturday October 1st we had our first baby shower at Grandpa Allen's house. That was hosted by Grandpa Allen, Marilyn, and Blake.

Blake provided all of the food! We had enough to feed an army and it was delicious!  My favorite was the meatballs and deviled eggs, yum!!

Marilyn provided the cake!  It was beautiful!

One of the baby shower games was Bobbing for Binkies where the contestants had to grab as many binkies as they could in 30 seconds! Darrin and Allen did a great job but Sheldon and Marilyn were then winners!

We are so blessed to have so many friends who were able to attend the baby shower!

Cherie and Baby Amalia

Jennifer, Sheldon, Stephanie, and Heidi

Jennifer and Jasper
Don and Joy have been in  the neighborhood for over fifty years!

We received a lot of beautiful gifts!

Tye Dye Dress!

Baby's First Christmas Ornament

Swaddle Blanket

Spit Happens Bib

Precious Little Girl Clothes

Personalized outfit for Baby Charley to bring her home from the Hospital!

The most unique gift we received was from a friend of Allen's who made us a custom made baby hang glider harness! Not too sure where we will use it but it's quite the conversation piece! Perhaps we can put it up at Grandpa Allen's parachute shop!

A Big Thank You to Grandpa Allen and Marilyn for a wonderful Baby Shower!

Seven Months

This is the last week of our seventh month! The baby has been moving a lot! Overall I have been feeling pretty good!  Some days are a bit uncomfortable and I feel tired by the afternoon.  Other days I have more energy. It's getting a bit more difficult to bend over or pick up things off the ground.  I have been quite hot for the past few weeks and it didn't help that we had a crazy heat wave this past week. The most annoying symptom has been at night when my hips ache and it's hard to roll over.

Three weeks ago we found out that my blood sugar was testing on the high side so I have had to be more mindful of what I eat. The doctors have assured me that this is quite normal during pregnancy and as soon as I deliver the baby the blood sugar should go back to normal.

The children in my class have been expressing an interest in my growing belly. They all know that I am having a baby but they have been asking very curious questions and have been telling me their own birth stories which have been quite interesting to hear coming from three and four year-olds.

Darrin and I have spent the past month cleaning out our guest bedroom and preparing it for a nursery/guest bedroom. It is finally cleaned out and just in time, for the baby showers!

In just two more months are little bundle of joy will be arriving. We are excited and nervous all at the same time! We start our preparing for childbirth classes this Friday October 7th.
